Joan's story ...October 6, 2015 · "Many thanks for sharing how to make easy, tasty and nourishing food.
My family were plagued with things that left us fatigued, allergic to common foods, in pain, infertile, unable to cope with life.
It is never too early or too late to change our way of eating.
My grandies love 'sour food' and we all have experienced positive life changes, including a new bub where we thought was not possible".
The gut is where our health begins. When our gut is happy – the rest of our body works. Including fertility.
Fermented food provide the good bacteria, or “probiotics” that are so essential to our GI tract. This is crucially important for conceiving and the growing baby.
Thank you from Carol ...
" My daughter was struggling with life and given up hope of starting a family. She went to a workshop and bubbling creations took over our kitchens and we now have a love for waste - produce skins, seeds and pulp (vinegar and garden enzyme juice, household cleaners and beauty products).
We now have a beautiful 18 month old kraut and kefir baby.
We still and always will use the fermenting tools to live a healthier, happy life.
We all can run from one fad to another but since adding fermentation to our diet we have seen so many great changes.
I no longer have any sweet cravings and sleep well without medication or any acid reflux.
I could go on forever with the power of this wonderful food that we have included in small amounts.
An example of our daily intake: 1/2 cup of kefir with breakfast, 1/2 cup of sauerkraut or fermented vegetables (or occasionally fermented fruit) with lunch, and a glass of kombucha or shrub / drinking vinegar or kvass with an afternoon snack or before dinner, coconut yoghurt for dinner dessert, dash of kefir before sleep."
My heart goes out to those struggling with infertility.
Some peeps may have problems more complicated than something that can be fixed with exercise, reducing weight and changing food and adding fermentables.
However, many couples have improved their fertility by improving their health through nutrition. So give it a go!
